I'm now torn between using the turbo bumper with quads or modifying my C4S rear bumper for center GT3 style center tips. Also throwing around the idea of center quads similar to the Techart 991. Looking for something different and to make it stand out from the typical 997's.
What do you guys think? Center quads to much over the top?
Well it's been awhile since my last update and with the weather cooling off in Florida I can finally work out in my garage again without having a heat stroke.
Found a drivers door and hood locally and the beast is starting to look like a car. Still need to get the passenger quarter repaired and I picked up a pair of Gambella GT500 side skirts from Extreme Motorcars. Not sure if I will keep this frontend or go with something more aggressive before painting but I got several months before I need to decide. Figured at this point I should go all in and make this bitch over the top and sinister.
Exhaust will be getting done in 2 weeks. I have had several change in directions on this so everyone will just have to wait to see..

BTW, anyone experience issues with the clutch slave cylinder and using a stage 2 or higher clutch? Just pressed my clutch in to find it stuck to floor and now I have hydraulic fluid dripping out fron the bottom of my engine adapter. Pretty sure the seal exploded but won't be able to pull it out till I return from my business trip.

I would bet the slave wasn't centered -it's hard to see up there .I know because it happened to me .It felt tight and it was crooked jumped off the throwout arm and popped the dustcover and piston out .
Subscribed! My Dad is a Porsche guy and I'm an LS guy... sharing this with him so he can see the best of both worlds! He's got the last year of the air cooled 993 cars and his keeps increasing in value... Now if I could only convince him to do an LS swap.
Dropped the car off to Profab on Friday and they killed it again with the exhaust. I pick it up tomorrow and the suspense is killing me on how it's going to sound, also the fact that I will actually get to drive the car for the 1st time..
The beast is back at the house and time to troubleshoot the electrical gremlins. Car does not want to idle and I can hear a relay in the back clicking when under 1k rpms and then car dies.
Things that work:
- oil temp gauge
- water temp guage works to 175f then won't read any higher. Using the LS sensor in the head and probably need to wire in the Porsche sensor.
- cooling fans are coming on at 200f and temps drop down once kicking on.
Things not working:
- tachometer (need to program my Dakota Digital and make sure I am pulling the right signal wire) RPMs reading on ODB handheld
- idle dies out under 1k
- slave cylinder not fully disengaging when pressed and sticks the last 2". Pretty sure I just need to bleed it again and have some air in the lines.
Plan for the day is let her run for 5min and bring her up to temp a couple cycles with 30min breaks so that I can burp the coolant system and check for any leaks or other problems.
Well after months of starting the car and 1 short drive around the neighborhood the engine is officially blown..the video below is 5min before the internal destruction... I had the wife record the short video and decided I wanted to hear it myself outside the car and had asked the wife to start it up and should have specified how much throttle to apply . It was loud for 3-5sec followed by black smoke and a metal to metal crunch. Coolant in the tank disappeared and engine no longer cranks or will turn over. I'm guessing a rod went and won't know for sure till next year when I decide to pull the engine apart. Not how I was hoping to spent the new year but **** happens and now I have an excuse to go bigger and forged.
