Its a crap shoot. They are still in there (DOD lifters) and can fail anytime. Hopefully they aren't as big of a problem as Gen IV DOD/AFM engines.

Vannatta20,
Thanks for sharing the info bro !

Got my 72 Suburban L83 6L80 swap up and running. Would like to know what everybody is doing with the TCC Lockup/brake switch wiring?

Gen V's are simple. Just hook to pin 57 white/d-blu to your brake lights. Gen v's want to see 12 volts with brakes applied which is opposite of the gen III. The brake pedal sensor is not needed.

This week I will be fitting up the fuel.system with the fuel pressure control module and the low pressure fuel sensor. On some operating systems it will not be drive able without the system being hooked up.

Do you know if that also works if running cruise control with the bcm fitted, or would the variable brake sensor need to be fitted to run cc?

Anyone yet found a way to have the pcm control the fuel pump without the fuel pump module?

I always used a seperate fuel pump relay or the original to the car im swapping.

The dod/afm can be turned off in the tune. Most of the time with it off the lifters seem to do fine. I would just turn them off and leave everything as is.

Also to add to this thread are gauges. They will need to be canbus style to work. This seems to be the only option for gauges. Digital dakota and speed hut both have a variety of gauges tht work!

Last u can get a standalone harness from speartech tht will plug directly up and work as any other ls swap. U dont need the original bcm etc. to work. Just a standalone harness, and custom tuning!

Default Electric Water Pump

Is there an electric water pump for the gen V motors? Is it different from any other LS motor?

As far as i know no body has yet.
It shouldnt be any diff than swpping an older car. Build some motor mounts and bolt it in, Standalone harness etc.

I don't think it's that easy.
You have to figure out how run power steering.
Custom headers will have to be made.
Fuel system will need to be improved due to direct injection.
Nobody knows if the engine will fit in the engine compartment with the stock accessory system or will a aftermarket system will be needed.

EDIT: I just seen that you have done the swap. You make it seem easy. I would love to do a swap in my 4th Gen, because I can get a GEN V LT1 long block from my buddy for the cost of a LS3 long block, but the extra cost from the custom stuff makes the swap way more expensive.

Power steering pump is easy - ICT makes brackets to put a 2004 Corvette pump on.

Fuel system is easy, use a PWM from the donor with a late model Camaro pump.

Headers are made... or use a stock Camaro header.

Engine is the same overall dimensions to a gen 3/4

I put an LT1 and tr6060 in a 68 Firebird, which should be pretty similar to your Camaro. I bought a complete wrecked 2017 Camaro, so it may be a little different than a crate motor. For engine mounts, I used Dirty Dingo mounts that work with classic Chevy motor mounts and Camaro frame stands. I ended up having to cut and modify the frame stands to get the engine lower. For the transmission, i used a mount from BRP for a TR6060 swap, but it had to be modified, and holes needed to be drilled and tapped in the transmission. I then had to fab my own cross member. The transmission tail housing on the 16 Camaro was changed from the earlier designs, and it caused me a lot of grief both in the mounting, and later in the shifter. The headers were easy. Ultimate Headers makes a set of swap headers for this application designed around the DD engine mounts. They are very nice quality, but come with a high quality price tag. For the front accesory drive, i used the Drive Junky system A/C delete. The DJ system is designed around the stock Camaro water pump which is different than the Corvette and the truck water pump. On my car, the lower neck on the water pump had to be cut off and re-welded in a different position to clear the upper A-arm pivot. I've got about 1500 miles on it so far, and other than some tuning issues, I've been pretty happy with it.

Hooker Blackheart offers engine mounting brackets, headers and exhaust systems to carry out an LT swap in a 1st-gen F-Body. There are specific parts for stock subframes and Detroit Speed subframes. Both situations require the use of the Holley 302-20 LT oil pan.

That’s good to know. The hooker parts weren’t available yet when I did mine. It would have been nice to get everything from one vendor. I did use the Holley oil pan though.
