I'm just hoping they fix my problem. They're not really lookers though. I'm terrible at welding thin material. I mostly Arc weld on much thicker stuff. I started to grind the drivers header then realized I was grinding too deep and making the pipe even thinner. So I just knocked down my welds slightly thereafter.

Awesome job on the headers. Wheels look bad *** on the car too. How much do you want for the exhaust and are you willing to ship it? Also do you have the mounts still?

I'd do $100 plus actual shipping for the old headers and Y-pipe. I'd have to box it and weigh it for an actual shipping quote. One thing I did forget to mention and I'm not sure how much it'd be a problem. But my car is running a lowered mustang II steering rack. The shaft coming out of it is angled versus the chevettes rack. I do have the old engine mounts on the engine side. The frame side was just a couple trimmed down trailer spring hangers.

Picture of the rack.

Some of the engine mounts as they were being made and how they attached to the frame rails.

Got a head start on tomorrow by getting the coolant out of the way and cleaned up. Tomorrow the new trans goes in.

In all of my searching I never could find a good side by side comparison of a powerglide next to a 4L60E. So I took some photos.

While I was at it I threw them on the scales.

Empty new built powerglide.

And partially drained 4L60E, the slip yoke was not in the trans on the scale.

I didn't weigh the car after the new exhaust. But this trans should put me just shy of 2100 lbs.

Would you recommend using a front plate mount vs the side mounts? I think I'm going to build my own exhaust out of factory manifolds like your original design. I'm not looking to race the car but would like to make it easy on myself

Sorry for another question, but didn't notice anything in here about the fuel system. On the one startup vid it sounded like an intank pump. Are you using a fuel cell and I just missed it? I want to try and keep the factory tank

Having used both side mounts and a front plate. I'd definitely recommend the plate mount. I think in optimum conditions it's best to use a mid plate too. But I did research and found plenty of people just using the front plate alone so I'm trying that for now. The fuel pump setup is Aeromotive stealth in tank setup. Kinda pricey but very easy to install and supports more HP than I'll probably ever run.

Thanks, I'm in Alexandria. I was surprised how little LS cars I saw on the way down.

Testing out the new trans setup before I put the car away for the winter. Should be going in for the cage in the next couple weeks too.

Yeah, haven't knocked it on anything yet. Lowering my rack added a little protection from rouge road debris. Probably the best picture of the clearance I have.

i think it's also a matter of not driving it like a pickup truck and avoiding the big black spots on the road indicating a big dip. I have a lot of those in my area and I slow down or go off center of them.
