When are you going to have this thing at the track? Can’t wait to see it in person other then driving by it on the interstate lol

I want to re-do my torque arm and trans mount. I'm not confident on their abilities to withstand a transbrake on slicks launch. And minor things like harness install. If not next weekend the one after probably.

The windows roll down and it has fully functioning lights. That's all I need.

I swapped out my 4 blown shocks for some high dollar Guardian Gabriel's. I'm hoping this helps lower my 60' a little.

Two passes of fiberglass thermal wrap. Still need to bring home some sheet alum to box in my filter.

Awesome! You should notice a difference if you can get those temps below 100.

And after all that money, you cheaped out on shocks LOL!
I'm dyno tuning Brian's truck next thursday since he still hasn't made an effort to get it tuned since it had a 4.8. I'm sure he's going to want to take it to the track next Friday or Saturday if everything goes well.

I plan on redoing things future. Not sure if I'll be going to coilovers so I didn't want to spend big money on shocks right now. I knew I wouldn't make it to the track this Friday but I plan on it next weekend. If I can drop even 1 tenth I'll be happy.

Finally made the time to finish off my air box to prevent sucking in hot engine bay air. It’s not pretty but nothing about the car is.

Plan on heading back to the track soon?
I met Brian at the track Friday. Tuned his S10 the night before, adjusted his caltracs and tire pressure, adjusted his launch RPM and he clicked off an 11.03 @ 127.
As long as the weather holds up, him and Roy are meeting at Edgewater on the 13th. Would love to see you show them both who the boss is.

Weather depending i’d like to be there this Friday. I’m not to excited to be in that little sweat box when it’s in the 90*s either. My first run on this new setup I had sweat go in my eyes right as I was staging. Made the whole run with burning eyes barely looking. Not a fan.......

Just found this. This is a cool build and right up my alley. Using what you have with what you know and going against the grain big time.

Keep up the good work

Thats pretty cool . That would be very helpful. That last one would be a good one to give your "friend" who could never catch you in a race, LOL.

10.50s that thing is flying now!

For future reference when you are ready for an upgrade, 70s Dart front shocks bolt in without any modifications. Found that info in another ls swapped chevette on here and sloppy mechanics.

Was wondering what size rear tires and wheels you ended up using? I found a 2wd s10 8.5 axle for cheap local should be close if not the same width.

Also for your rear torque arm, a company in Australia makes a control arm setup for what they call Holden Gemini's there. Same chassis as the chevette. Could probably duplicate it pretty easily. I ended up buying one from them because my fabricobble skills aren't very good. Would take some extra fabrication due to how you set up the rear arm mounts but would also strengthenthem

To date my new best is a 10.41, and after doing some slow-mo videos I know I can get it to a 10.3X with a little more tweaking

Im actually running a set of competition engineering shocks for a dart application on my front right now.

My street wheels are 15”x8” with a 215/65/15. I’m confident in saying this is the tallest tire you can run without rubbing. Im running a power glide, I need the tallest tire I can get and these measure right about 26”. My slicks are 24.5”x8” on a 13”x8” wheel. I don’t know how much my slicks grow at speed so I’m hesitant to upsize. Neither of these tires rub fitting completely under the fenders using a nice anti roll bar. Before the roll bar they would on rub entering driveways at an angle.

That’s a decent looking easy route to a torque arm. My only concer is I had terrible wheel hop with my lower control arms on the factory mount that piece welds to. Check you arm height front to rear. Mine was lower in the front. Then again I may have welded my spring buckets on a little high. Just make sure you do some measuring before you weld it solid like I did lol. I’m going ladder bar in my next rendition. I don’t like the shape of the floor so I’m cutting it all out and making it better and easier to work on.
