It’s a modified length to fit Chris Alston 60’s Cougar torque arm for a 9”. Mounted up on the trans mount using the scrap steel I had laying around in my garage. It looks worse now that it’s a power glide car and I lost the ability to tie into the tail of the trans. Here’s a few angles of what I had in my phone.
Thanks for the photos! I've been trying to decide on how I want to set-up the rear suspension on my next Chevette. I had ladder bars on my last one, but I didn't care for how it rode on the street. I though about a 4 link too, but I don't like the idea of losing my back seat. I want to keep the interior somewhat stock. Your set-up seems to work good. I've watched your videos and it looks like it leaves the line good.
I plan on going ladder bar on my next setup for simplicity and ease of packaging. This setup isn’t bad and it’s probably more capable if I knew what I was doing more. So far my best 60’ is a 1.44 on a 24.5”x8” tire
My knowledge of what is better than what is pretty limited. I just copied how an F-body torque arm goes all the way to the pivot of the front I-joint. I thought that’s how it had to be when I was building the car. This was before I knew anything about ladder bars setups.

I just remember a buddy that had a 3rd gen Camaro and when he was building his car for serious drag racing he had a custom, much shorter torque arm installed. I don't know what's "best" either...LOL
Shorter will hit the tires harder. Height plays a role too. Higher will give you more weight transfer so have at it if you want to flip over lmao. This is a really cool car.
Next season I plan on trying a set of 25”x 9” tires. I’m hoping I can squeeze them in at least. I just start tuning in the rear shocks last season. I’d like to touch a 10.3 with the car how it is right now. I’m working on building a garage and if I can get that built this car will have a serious rebuild in store.

you should easily be able to hit that. Your 60 is off at least .5. Is your converter real tight? Low 60 but “highish” mph would indicate that.
It has. “3500” stall but stalls around 5000 on the brake. I haven’t tried leaving on stall yet. I have an msd set around 4100 and that has produced my best 60’so far.
I picked up another Chevette last week and I’m getting ready to order some rear wheels and tires. I’d like to try a set of 26” tires. Do they fit the wheel well ok? I’ve done some measuring and they look close. I ran 24” tires on my last one.
I want to try a 275/50r15 on a 10” wheel. I’m not worried about the width. I plan on mini tubing it. I’m just worried about the length of the opening. I don’t want to stretch the quarters.
I was pretty sure I measured the tire at Walmart as a 26” tire not mounted. As the car sits it’s 25” from ground to top. They are 215/65/15. Here’s a bunch of pictures, they are pretty stuffed front and back.
What size radiator do you have? Is it a 22X19? I think that's what I had in my last Chevette. I just want to avoid any overheating issues since I plan on driving this car alot on the street when it's done.

I drove from New York down to North Carolina the other week to pick this car up. 100% rust free body and floor.
I’m using a speedway motors 19”x24” double pass radiator. Part# 917-340-24
using a single fan” not sure the size but it’s def smaller than 19”, and no shroud I’ve had no issues street driving it even in the summer sitting in rush hour traffic on the highway.
