T56 in 69 Camaro

Starting in two weeks ill be putting a 6.0 and T56 in my 69 camaro, im wondering what shifter people use so that i could still use the stock console?? Thanks in advance

If you're referring to a 4th-gen F-body T56, the shifter you'll need to accomplish that will depend on the specific engine mounts you use and the fore/aft engine position they provide.

Thanks for the reply. Yes its a 4th gen T56 and engine mounts i bought will sit the engine forward 1 inch.

The use of forward biased mounts will have a positive effect towards being able to use your stock console. You will need to use a forward offset shifter, even with using 1" forward biased engine mounts. McLeod offers some nice offset shifters you may want to look into.

Thanks again. I had read about them as well as the sst or the blackjack. Wasnt for sure if there was something else out there or those three.

I'm using energy suspension mounts with b&m ripper shifter and the stock console.

I couldn't get my stock console to work on my build. I didn't want to use the offset shifter since the stick would move up and down as well as back and forth when you use the offset. I couldn't slide my console back either as I have aftermarket seats that are already wider than stock. I thought about using the forward inspection plate as they have a kit where you can put your shifter there, but it moved it too far forward. I ended up going with a UMI Short Stick that I heated and bent to get the right vertical angle. I am currently building a console using 1/8 plywood and 2nd gen Camaro trim pieces. I will cover the plywood with vinyl/leather when done for a finished look. I should start posting those pictures on my build thread.
