2013 Avalanche...L96 Swap
It should bolt right up to the 6L80E correct? Will I need to drop the trans?
Also was thinking about doing some LS9 head gaskets, ARP Head Studs, and Trunion Upgraded Rockers in case I wanna go turbo later...any other suggestions?
This will be my first engine swap, planning on grabbing an engine lift from Harbor Freight...Ive done a couple cam swaps, installed new clutches, headers, etc...
ANY Tips greatly appreciated!
Thanks for help guys....
Pic of truck....has 96k miles, 5.3 runs fantastic, good oil pressure and mileage just want a little more power
I wouldn't open it up. The newer gen5 motors are completely different from the older ls engines. so the standard ls9 gaskets I don't think will work. O yea u will need around 70psi base fuel pressure for the lift pump. these motors operate around 2000psi fuel pressure.

But anyways there a whole new breed of engines. Worth the swap once finished just takes a lil more doe than a normal ls swap.

As far as the tune goes it will run but I would definantly get a new tune. I think the heads on the 6.0 have higher flow numbers and that increase in airflow on the 5.3 tune my lead to some lean conditions.
