That's actually not far off. I got a couple of random calls for a couple of days asking for build asking device or if I was selling anything they might want.

If I am looking for a solid 550-600rwhp, is there any point in looking at a lq4 or l33 and pay up for the difference. I know the l33 will shave around 100lbs off the front of my car, but if I am not racing does it really make much of a difference. This will be strictly a cruiser with a auto-x every here and there. The initial plan was to turbo anything I got, which I still plan to do. I have read the rods are better no the gen IV engines, but if I manage to find a good price on an earlier engine, will it be able to handle the power I want? Or should I strictly look for gen 4?

I was always told that the difference between making 500 and 600 is a lot. Takes a lot better parts and pieces to get to that 600 power mark reliably.

If you are stuck on that power level, I would get a Gen 4 engine or a Gen 3 and swap out the rods. I think the number is somewhere around ~450 that people get concerned with the Gen 3 rods.
