Default LS2/4L70 into 70 GTO

I'm thinking of an LS2/4L70 straight out of a TBSS into my 70 GTO. I don't want to cut up the tunnel for the 4L80 or 6L80, and like the idea of a factory package with the best small trans that GM made. This will be a Pro-Touring car, with emphasis on the Touring.

What will the stock converter be like with the A-body -- 1000 lbs less than the TBSS? 3.42 or 3.73 gears be better? Who makes the best-fitting swap kit? There are lots out there nowadays. And finally -- what are the HP limits for the stock LS2 heads?

Future plans will call for boost, but that will be farther down the road.

Thoughts and experiences?

Personally I would go with the 3.73 gears for that transmission. It will give you a great range and cruising rpm. If you are looking for a complete installation kit then look into the new Holley A body swap kits.

Thanks, it does look like Holley has done their homework.

I'd go with the 3.42 gears for better highway cruising. Holley swap components for sure.
