need help! 5.3 dies when coming to a stop

need help! 5.3 dies when coming to a stop I have a 02 5.3 out of a Yukon that I had swapped in my 02 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Using the transmission and transfer case from the Jeep and my Jeep computer runs my gauges and the 5.3 computer runs the engine.
Ok it starts just fine and will idle just fine but I can on the highway and drive around 20 min. At 65 to 70 with no problem. When I hit the exit ramp and start to slow down going into 3rd and 2nd gear my rpms drop to 0 and it dies. It starts right back up and will sit there and idle waiting on the light to change. Coming off a higher speed in 4th and 5th gear and slowing down for a stop it just dies.
i would appreciate any help you could send my way.

yes it is hooked up. It will idle all day long and will stay running most of the time when you are in 1, 2, 3 gear at slow speeds. It dies when you are coming to a stop after driving in 5 and 4 gear and when you go to neautral as yo slow down or if you just press the clutch in and it gets dow to 30 MPH the rpm drops and it dies.
As stated above this is normally caused by the engine pcm not receiving a speed signal. Do you have more then one vss or are you sure it is connected to the new pcm and your old speedo setup?

I will say I have found out how to prevent the dying ( temporary) by a short punch to the gas pedal when coming to a stop. When I come to a stop I can push clutch in or put it in neutral right before it dies and punch the gas a bit and it will not die. The engine will rev up a bit when I punch it and goes back down and will idle just fine. If I don't get that short punch in then it will die.
Im new on this sight and im sure there is not many on here with a 5.3 swap in a Jeep and it looks as I posted it on the wrong section but really do appreciate the help and info you have gave me and any more anyone can give. I will repost more on what I come up with. Thanks again!
