I am getting ready to install an LS3/T56 magnum into my 68 firebird. I have the connect and cruise package from GM and swap kit from holley (engine mounts, tran crossmember, etc)

Question: Does this setup require modification to the tran tunnel (other than a simple hole for shifter)? If so, where and how much of tunnel to cut and remove?

Honestly you'll probably just need to beat the **** out of the tunnel with a 4 lb sledge.

Carbuff did a 71 Firebird with a T56 I believe, but lots of
Early Camaros out there with T56 I would guess,
Especially G/Pro Touring Forums.

T56 magnum is basically a tr6060 and you're going to have to raise the tunnel.

My magnum fit just had to open up the hole a bit. I had ict plates with poly sbc mounts.

LS7 w/ a magnum T56 fit with very slight modifications in mine. Came from American Powertrain and fit the stock hole location(slightly enlarged yes) and console even.
