5.3LS/4l60E help with tuning shifts
Hi all,.. Got a 64nova with the 5.3/4l60E transplant, Holley Dominator V4... upgrades include texas speed 224 cam...224/224-581"/581" 114....pushrods and springs,...arp stud kit for the block, c6 intake, holley 66lb injectors, Monster's 2300 stall convertor. pos 3:55 rear gears.....
I really dont know what im doing as far as tuning.... the base set up holley has for a LS1/4l60E is in the ballpark...I adjusted the tune for 327ci" and the 66lb injectors, the car runs great, but when it comes to W.O.T.... Im noticing that the tranny set up is off,.. maybe because the 5.4 winds up faster than a 5.8....not to mention the upgrades.... so in the holley software there are settings to tune the tranny W.O T. shifts...
1-2 wot upshift
5500rpm
2-3 wot upshift
5500
3-4 wot upshift
5500
Any of you guys have any tips for helping me out... how do I go about getting the shift points right...? when I stick it in drive and "get up to speed" and floor it,..it does not kick down,..it gradually picks up speed,..same thing when im in overdrive and floor it..... at a complete stop if I floor it, it smokes the tires just fine...

I don't know what you are trying to fix. If the shift is late lower the trigger. If the shift is early raise the trigger. Make the triggers all match (90%+ TPS in the normal driving should match the WOT upshift values) so the ECU isn't confused.
There are other maps for downshift (ex 2-1 shift) it sounds like you might want to change? again not sure of the question exactly
