It seems like every post I read says something different so I just need some solid info from someone who knows. I've got a 98 Camaro Z/28 and I'm wanting to swap in My 07 LQ4 motor out of my truck. I know so far I will have to swap intakes, oil pan, and windage tray. The alternator is missing a bolt but I'll probably just leave it that way as most people don't have problems. Questions are:
1. Will the factory LS1 motor mounts work ok?
2. Will the factory Camaro 98 pcm work with the motor? (I can tune it)
3. Will the factory Camaro serpentine belts work once I do this swap?
4. Should I use LS1 fuel rails/injectors or LQ4?
5. Anything else I will need or need to know before this swap?
Thanks

1. yes
2. yes if you use the whole LS1 harness
3. yes if you use the whole LS1 accessory drive setup
4. yes so you can use the LS1 harness (DO the tune though)
5. You will need to drill a hole in the LQ4 block for the alternator bolt. Do a search on the iron block alternator bolt hole.

Just to keep things simple, use the LS1 alternator since it plugs right into the present system. Basically you are swapping in the basic LQ4 long block with all the LS1 accessories, intake, and exhaust manifolds hung onto it.
