99 new edge mustang 4.8 lsx turbo swap

I can't stand the fender exit strategy. Why not try and get at least halfway behind the front doors before sending it out? You can always put a quiet muffler and a cutout on it.
To me that makes or breaks it as a daily driver. If you can't hear yourself think? And if everyone can hear you coming, or stepping down on the gas pedal even a slight bit, it takes away all the mystery and gives you a creeping headache. It sounds fun, but honestly after listening to turbine whistle for 5 hours I still hear it when I shut the car off and it makes me think my hearing is getting abused.

Not a daily driver and it’s going to be coming out the passanger side front bumper. If I end up hating it then it is what it is. I’ll just have a big *** hole in the front bumper to remind me of my mistake. I know some like it and some don’t.
But this is a to and from the track, 15min drive to work and some street time here or there car. Any real distance and I’ll put it on a trailer.
Don’t take it wrong, I do appreciate the advice. Just one of those things I’m going to have to figure out on my own

Oh my bad you used the word daily. I drive mine 400miles+ per week and it would kill me to have to listen to that all the time. I put a single turbo muffler on it, kills all power but its deathly silent. I can hear the belt tensioner squeaks and the electric buzzing of the transmission.
And added a cutout for performance situations.
So I dont waste the space I can only remind you that Lt1swap.com has all the wiring info. I am sure you could do it yourself based on what I already see. I was able to wire mine in around 20 hours, taking my slow *** time. Just a heads up to save you some cash.

I could have left it in and did the cam swap and drill the pan but I wanted to make sure when I drill/tap the pan I get all the shavings. Plus doing the cam on the stand makes it that much easier
Mungface78, that looks good and would make life a ton easier

Simple bracket made for the pump
Cut my stock alternator/ps pump bracket and cleaned everything up. I’ll blast the timing cover tomorrow
Cam swapped in, doing it upside down made it quick and simple
I got my flaming river manual rack and pinion. Big thanks to member Burning for giving me the heads up on the 20% off eBay coupon.
Ordered all the -an fittings I think I need and I’ll order tie rod ends and steering joint tomorrow
I sent my harness off a couple weeks ago. As long as I get it back soon I should be able to fire this thing up the end of the month.

Haven’t posted in a while, figured I’d throw out a update.
Motor is back in car. Fuel hoses done and cell mounted and yeah, my front bumper is way off in paint color..
Got my driveshaft together and surprise surprise....to short... by a lot.
Finally got my wiring harness back Friday. Got it all plugged up to the motor but have the dash out routing the harness and trying to find a place to put the pcm. Probably just going to mount it under the carpet on the passenger side trans tunnel for easy access. Want it behind the dash but also want to keep all the hvac stuff so I can keep heat at least. Going to work on getting the dash back in tonight, order some wire and hopefully be able to start this thing up this weekend, we’ll see. Oh and got my tach from member burning on Saturday and got the upr tach Mount to go with it Saturday too
And haven’t got brave enough yet to cut a hole in my bumper but that’s where the downpipe is coming out

I forget what tranny are you running? Is it actually a th400 or is it a 4l80e? and you did say everything came up short right? Just curious because I've got a 4l80e and I used my stock driveshaft it fit perfect. Just wondering why your shifted forward more than mine if that's the case... all things being equal that is.

Quick google search shows the 80e is roughly 4in longer then a th400. Never knew that myself
After I hear this thing run I’ll have a shaft made somewhere

Wow I actually didn't know that! I thought they were pretty close the same length. So let me ask a question, is it cheaper to yard sale your th400 and pick up an 80e versus paying to have the driveshaft lengthened? I honestly didn't have any work done at a shop for mine so I really don't know what they charge but a 4l80e around here is fairly cheap and the th400s still get a good buck. Be almost an even swap

My th400 Is brand new and built by abruzzi. It has a reverse manual valve body, 34 elelment sprag, transbrake etc. I don’t want to ditch it over a driveshaft. Overdrive would be nice but this tranny should last me a long while...probably longer then I’ll have the car..hopefully lol
I think custom made driveshaft with me supplying the yoke is in the neighborhood of $ 200-400

Ahhh gotcha. I though it was just a random one you picked up off CL or something. That's not too bad and you're right definitely not worth it over a driveshaft!
