I had a Honda (pretty stock sounding)pull up next to me while rolling along at about 35mph and he pulled his clutch in and revved his fart can muffled engine a couple times, I just put it in 3rd and put down a quick patch of rubber, He didn't bother pulling back up on me lol.
The only other time I was challenged was at a stoplight and another wannabe ricer type car starts revving until the light turned green, Funny thing is never even got on it and still pulled away, He was shifting away trying to keep up and I was still in 2nd just rolling on the throttle.

I know there are lots of cars in my area that are quicker but they are smart enough not to challenge someone to a race on a busy street, I might play with someone but I have to much to lose to try to do a street race with some dipshit in heavy traffic.

I have no idea how fast it is, I've only done 2nd gear pulls getting on the freeway ( 5,600rpms= 75mph) then have to lift as soon I hit 3rd gear.
I can't give it 100% throttle because it just was to break the tires loose and finally settle down when I hit 3rd.
I would love to be able to put some drag radials on it and do a flying mile test, I'd have to put my big boy undies on for it but it would be fun, I shouldn't have any trouble hitting at least 150mph = (4th gear 6,500rpms)
Not sure how much further I'd want to push it even if it could without a good cage, I don't think it's going to want to stick down the faster I go like a Vette lol

It really looks sweet!
Do you need the cowl?
If not, throw the stock flat hood back on for the stealth look.

I don't need it but it's hard to be stealthy with bright red stepside Xtreme with 19x12 wheels on the rear and noticeable rumble from the exhaust. I like the look and it does help get the heat out.

Really nice! Kind of makes me wish I kept my LSA. I sold it off, and bought turbo parts, but haven't made it far enough yet.

I also have a 408 that I need to get back together, Short version of a long story is I bought it after the previous owner had it built and they blew it up on the dyno, He gave up on it and went BBC. He had a 10-71 roots on it and I'm putting my 6-71 on it (or 8-71 if I find one at a good price) It made over 900hp on 15lbs. The S-10 was built as a daily driver to play with while I build my 1951 5 window. I've seriously thought about switching it to twin turbo but it's hard to beat the roots with a bugcather setup for eye appeal.

Previous owners build picture here.

This is the truck, I have 95% of the parts to build it stacked around the garage and basement.

Stock 3.42 rearend (will get a 4,11 ratio 8.8 this winter)

Definitely wouldn't go 4:11 with that setup
Even though it's double overdrive if you go to the track and do full 1/4 pass you'll have to touch 5thgear with that much power going on

It's a street truck not a track truck and we have 1/8th mile strip if I were to go anyway. I built it to drive daily as long as the weather cooperates.
The rear going in will be a simple Ford explorer 8.8 junkyard deal and most of them are 3.73. I work at a salvage yard so I've been looking for a low mileage rear rather than be concerned with ratio alone.

Thanks, It turned out better than I thought for just making a few marks and cutting it apart and it fit when it went back together.
I really want a 10-71 "The Blower Shop" Billet.

Did you keep VVT with the supercharger? Also, which ECU are you using, the E38? If so, how did you get tach signal? And do you have the ECU reading 158mph always or were you able to solve that problem?

I'm interested in adding an LSA supercharger to my L96 if I could keep VVT.

I use the Holley system so no VVT, You don't need it with a supercharger anyway, You definitely won't lack torque or HP lol I can't even put the pedal full throttle in 2nd gear. If I run 2nd gear out I still have to feather the pedal all the way to my 3rd gear shift at 75mph.

Love the setup! Curious why you cut the bed center when putting in the larger wheel wells? Not criticizing just asking your reasons of going that route vs just cutting out the metal on the outer edge to get additional tire clearance?

I've love to see more of your 5 window as well!

I had to do it that way to get the floor runners to line up. I'm not that great at fabricating but I knew it would bother me if the runners were misaligned.

It really wouldn't have saved me time and I would have had two seams to weld in the center rather than one.

I see you have Polk county plates. Des Moines?
I am in Ankeny and working on 79 Malibu ls3/t56 magnum swap that I recently bought an LSA supercharger for.
Nice build.

Very cool build! I couldn't agree more on using the LS9 cam in a boosted daily.
