Default LSx Stuff on Facebook

I'm not much for social media. I had a FB account and deleted it several years ago. No twitter, no Instagram, etc. I recently reestablished a FB account because there is a group relating to what I do for a living that would be beneficial to join. I literally have no "friends" on FB. I just wanted to join that group.

Lately, I'm being told that FB Marketplace and other groups are taking over from these type of forums. So I joined a few LSx groups. I know there are literally billions of users on FB, so they can't all be 18 years old and idiots. But during the short time I've been following along where people have asked for the type of advice and information typically discussed in this subforum, I just can't believe the amount of misinformation that's disseminated.

I'm far from the most knowledgeable guy out there but I'm constantly seeing bad or simply wrong information shared. Typically, buried somewhere in the middle of 30+ comments, someone will point out the bad information and attempt to set things right.

It's a shame this forum doesn't get the traffic it once did but I think I'll continue to hang around here. I can only read "bro" so many times in one day.

My approach similar to yours Tipsy - on FB a while back but deleted account. Too much "noise" and drama with no value add. Rejoined recently but no friends to cut out the noise. Access to a few car related groups. Lots of youngsters for sure.

Agree with you on the information side of things, but the groups and FB marketplace in general is fantastic for picking up parts and full cars for good prices if you know what you are looking for.

Don't join the page "LS Swap Everything!".
Every single person there is a complete idiot. Every question asked is something like "Should I buy a cam for my LS" or "How do I swap an LS into my Bronco".

Ha! That's actually the most recent group I joined and I immediately had the same thought.

You have to wonder whether those who post in that group are aware that the internet extends beyond FB.
