Default 67 Camaro RS LS3 & T56 Swap parts lists and advice needed

Hello all,
I am in the process of the beginning stages of THE SWAP. I am looking for pictures and parts lists from anyone who has done this swap with a first gen camaro. I am looking at buying the 525HP connect and cruise from Jegs. Price saving tips are also much appreciated. I have attached a current picture of the 350 SBC and engine compartment to give ideas. I plan on keeping the A/C system (currently stock R12), because it gets pretty damn hot in Vegas. I have already installed the LS3 radiator and dual electric fans. I am looking to learn from mistakes and use kits that work well with each other. Anyone with specifics regarding any of the following would be helpful:

motor mounts and headers
A/C system (upgraded parts and hoses) I do realize I will probably have to convert to R134
Firewall prep and different A/C hose routing ideas
Electrical upgrades/prep
Tuning
Clearence considerations
Time it took to perform the swap

I know it is a big project and there is lots I haven't listed, so any help is appreciated. Please share with me mistakes and things you would do-over if you could. Thanks in advance to all. Updates on instagram @red67rocket.

I am new hear too and the best thing you can do is find build threads with swaps similar to yours and read them all.... asking people to post all the info here is redundant and places all the research work on others... I think if you spent a couple days reading you could answer a lot of questions and then fine tune your list to more specific items.

Good luck! ( I need it too!)

Checkout TeamCamaro.net Yeah, Many Camaro guys over there and they have an excellent LS section with guys that have done several LS swaps. Just a thought.

Welcome to the forums. There are several camaro swaps here for you to read through. The search feature is your friend. For mounts I would go with the complete Holley setup.

My advice to you is to buy a complete kit and stick with it. Meaning, if you decide to go with one company, make sure you use their mounts, headers, and etc. that all match. When you mix and match components, you end up with much more work in the end. I opted for the Holley/Hooker route that utilizes the 302-2 oil pan because I feel that they have the best engine placement. When I installed my engine it literally dropped right in. Very well designed. My build thread is in my signature if you want to take a look over at pro-touring.com

Good luck!

Thanks for the link. Awesome job on all of the work you put into that. Even more awesome job on documenting it all for project starters like me to see. Thanks again.

Tons of info on here, use the search, I still do for my own build, I'm building a 68, but I started before everyone offered kits, so I'm sticking with what I have,

While Lateral g and Protouring.com have some great build going on, I find LS1tech has more knowledgeable posters and threads. I typically go there once I read all the threads that interest me here. LOL.

Since he's in Vegas and there are some people that are building cars just like what he's doing, and theres a group of them that had their hands in the ATS business, this group gets together and help each other build cars, thats why I plugged Lat G, pro-touring is nothing more than internet dicks.....

I went aftermarket subframe which made parts of my swap easier, but also increased the price. Feel free to use any of the ideas in my thread.

That might be your perception, but it is far from reality.

I understand your reply Andrew, I've been part of that forum since the Larry started it, I was always a regular poster, till about 6-8 yrs ago, some of the attitudes from some of the newer members were just like playground bullys, so I bowed out, Now a days I look through some stuff, but for me its not the same, I find the lateral g guys less keyboard tough guys,

Fair enough. Give it a go again, if you feel like it.
