Has anyone tried this pan?
Has anyone tried this pan? Was looking at oil pans at orielly auto parts and they show a spectra premium oil pan. Part # GMP77A. Its 180 and it includes gaskets and bolts vs the Dorman 264-331 at 250 with no gasket or bolts. Just curious as I googled the spectra and it didn't yield much info at all. Thanks all
I understand that. I guess I'm asking if anyone has used this instead of the fbody oil pan for their swaps. If you look under ls1 camaro it shows up. Just curious as I'll be looking for a fbody pan for my lemans here soon.

Looks like a good deal. Prices for the Spectra pan are all over the place, but I'm sure it comes out of the same factory as the Dorman.
The Dorman pan is $199.99 on Summit and Jegs, by the way.

Judging by the images and shape, the pan looks a lot like the 1998 - 2002 V8 F-Body pan to me. The Spectra pan part number you listed even shows this as a compatible vehicle on A-Z and OR's sites. Where the confusion comes in for me is those sites also show the 2009 2WD Express and Savanna vans. I haven't been under a 2009 van so I can't vouch for what pan they use, but I can't imagine it being this one if the other years I have seen use the typical truck pan.
When I plug that part number into Amazon it gives three compatible OEM part numbers and all those point to the 1998 - 2002 V8 F-Body cars.
I would expect this to fit whatever swaps the F-Body pan fits.

This statement is not true. Each pan requires the proper oil pickup tube and windage tray to work efficiently. Some pans, windage trays and oil pickups may interchange, however for the longevity of your engine I strongly suggest using the proper combination of parts.

Spectra is Canadian, I believe and they have been around for a long time. They make radiators, header cores, gas tanks, apparently oil pans too, etc...
I'd probably choose them over Dorman...
