And most non-performance set ups don't use it either - at wide open throttle. They drop back to open loop.

no computer, whether factory or aftermarket, or person generally would want closed loop at WOT.

Even if I had a wideband system and no transient delay with a failsafe boundary condition I would still avoid using it for multiple reasons, but mainly because it is useless... for most applications.

Which is why none of them or anyone does it, which was said above.

Right, I was adding info to his post to clarify why and how things work. Each post is additional information. Only trolls post just to post, leaving nothing behind except useless words...

You just elaborated on what was said already without really adding anything at all. My comment addressed that

Discussion helpful on all fronts....actually, just read an article --- processing speeds and sophistication of algorithms is getting to/at the point where controlling via feedback under all conditions is possible and/or right around the corner. All that being driven by (like it or not) increasing pressure on reducing emissions and fuel consumption.

So the WOT/CL situation will be wide-spread reality soon?

Well, who knows, but capability exists now. Certainly OEM's -- but I doubt the aftermarket stuff will get there soon, but you never know. Hell, Mazda just released compression ignition gasoline engine - 16:1 CR - runs much of the time without/with minimal spark. Go figure.
