Default 1986 G-Body LS2 Transmission Choice Help!

Helping someone out with their 1986 Monte LS2 swap. He has a whole 2006 CTS-V as a donor vehicle. Ideally he wants to run the M6, but is hoping to have the car out this summer, so was thinking of keeping the Auto for now.

Problem is the car has a 200R4 in it, the LS2 is DBW. My research shows running this transmission is near impossible unless he does a full manual valve body.

What's the next easiest/cheapest bet to get him going? The motor is 58x/4x.. Would a 4L60e from a 2007.5+ truck work? I believe he'd need the TCM and proper wiring for that. I noticed Car-part lists a bunch of different variations, which would be compatible?

Ideally the M6 would just go in to save a lot of hassle. The biggest issue is the shifter linkages being too far back and not having a slip yoke. Is there an easy way to convert this over?

TIA

You can get a gto mn12 t56 mainshaft and tail shaft housing and convert it to a splined/slip yoke.

I'd convert that trans or get a t56 If your looking for fast/simple swap.

The F-Body tailhousing and GTO mainshaft make the most sense. The shifter position works very well in the G-body.
