Default Hello need help

I am looking for information on how to use a stock computer and wiring harness out of a late 90 truck or car to but an engine and transmission in my 78 c10 truck

Yes, its a good idea. Plus VATS needs to be removed or else your car wont start.

Thank you for your help can you tell me if I need to keep the oil pressure sensor at the back of the engine or can I use a regular gauge I am reworking the wiring harness to do a stand alone

The oil pressure sender does not hook with the ECM. Use what you like.

Ok thank you I had heard that it might control the fuel pump but that didn't sound right to me

I use a regular old school mechanical autometer oil pressure gauge on my LS,
