Sweet ride! I prefer the 4L80 for work over the 6spds. If you run the e38 ECM you can get a Van TCM from 07 thats compatible and will control the 4L80

Nice find dude

See i want the 6L80/90 cause the gearing is more favorable. If i was going for big power, 4L80 all the time, but it's a cruiser/tow pig. 6L90 will kill a 4L80 in that.

With a stockish stall I agree. With a well matched cam and converter? Not so much. A good converter really makes or breaks an auto build but there is the heat factor to consider, and a good stall does put more load on the engine. A 6.2L 4L80 with a 220ish/230ish cam and a high end stall would be a beast!

I'd run a gigantic trans cooler for this though. In Texas? maybe as physically large as the rad itself for worry free towing. The 6spd and stockish stall does make sense on a heat level if you run a smaller cam that wont drive through it

Yea this isn't a race truck. and like the gearing advantage of a 6L over the 4L80. Hell even highway speeds in it for cruising, it's got 4-500 rpm drop at only 70mph! And 6L80 can take plenty of power, they come factory on cars with LSA...

Subscribed!! Killer truck and Camaro bro. I’m not offshore, but I’m in West Texas. Hopefully you can get some stuff knocked out every time you get to the house.

Ironically I just picked up a 6l80 2x4 trans today. Clean shape, good deal, might try it with this 6.2 I got. I have read there is quite a bit of OS bs with regards to the ECM/TCM can bus so if you get a 6l80 be sure its year correct to your ecm or you might be stuck. Theres flashes that can be done but a hard line in 2009 that cant be crossed. 06-09 ECM/TCM are unique to each other and so are 2010+ versions. Thought this info might be of help

I'm from west Texas (or do you mean the city "West"?).
