Your spring tensioner is located as the second component in the chain means it will be acting against whatever tension is added by the AC, waterpump and alternator. This means under load, especially under the load of the AC, the tensioner willl probably fail to take up the slack created by belt stretch and you may end up tossing belts.
The tensioner should be located in the slack part of of the system (i.e where you have the idler near the waterpump inlet). Examine how Kwik performance has their AC bracket / tensioner setup and consider doing something similar.

what ac bracket is that? Ive looked at ones from early 4.3 S10s with R4 and wondered if they would work
but also read that R4s dont have a sump for oil so they need to stay running(Non CCOT)

It’s off s10. I hacked it up and a 3/8 Aluminium plate bolted to head worked perfect for belt alignment.
The r4 doesn’t run all the time. Wanted a short pump so it would not be sticking out the side the the side. Wanted to run hose under the trim cover to hide. Looks like it’s going to work. Making a new mount to put tensioner below ac pump now.
