Default Accessory drive critique

hi all. I am putting a 5.3 in a s10 frame under a 51 chevy truck I had to move the ac compressor to the top since it wouldn’t fit in between frame rails.
Wanted it tight and compact so went with old design R4 pump. They are short so it fits well.
Feel free to critique. Hate to miss something. Thanks. Jim

You need more wrap around the power steering pulley. That thing will screech like mad as it is right now.

Can put a larger pulley on tensioner. I have the belt shortened where it’s sitting can let off on tensioner more. This is what I need to hear. Thanks

More wrap on PS was my first impression as well. Can you relocate the pulley above the PS pulley towards the water pump?

Another issue you are going to run into is you will have to pull the upper radiator hose to put the belt on. Not the end of the world, but certainly an inconvenience.

Technically - hose has to come off to replace the belt....but the belt can come off the pulleys for other work/maintenance. Hang it on the hose.

That looks like a good idea, but you would be giving up about 1/3 of the crank belt wrap which could cause other issues. I think if the radiator hose isn't an issue, ii would try to move the belt tensioner in a bit, like in the last pic, and go with that.

I agree nova.. don’t think I want to lose the drive surface. I’ll move the tensioner in today

Keeping things simple, the crank and PS wrap can be increased with a pulley added above the gap between the two. The tensioner could remain outboard of the belt. And the hose would still be free.

Or the tensioner could be re-located and rotated to do the same, and the idler added inboard of the right hand vertical belt length.

As reliable as serp belts are, there's still no reason on this project to capture the coolant hose.

Better yet.. eliminate the idler at alternator. That cleans it up

There. Moved tensioner in an inch. Bigger pulley.

Simple way to add a little more wrap. Add an idler and spacer in the lower accessory bolt hole.
See post 78 here.
