Default LS2 from 2005 Corvette to 4L60e - Flexplate?

I have a 2005 LS2 out of a 2005 Corvette that is going to be mated to a regular 4L60e (ie, not corvette - 1968 Camaro). I have read in 1 place, maybe on here, that you can remove the additional part on the Corvette Flexplate and use it just fine. I think that they said it would require removing the grommets attaching them. Sounds good to me but this is my First Build, so excuse my ignorance on this. Looking for a little confirmation or guidance if this will not work. Thank you in advance.

Default Anyone?

I have searched for hours on end for the answer to this. I know there has got to be someone that knows the answer. Might be a detail pros take for granted, but this is my first build so I am really not sure. I guess I could just hack mine up and find out, but if I am wrong then it is really just a waste of time and a flexplate someone else might get use out of. Would really appreciate it if someone could help me out on this one.

Thank you in advance.

If it were me I would just buy a sfi certified flexplate. Stock flex plates have definitely been known to crack.

sfi flex plates are reasonable at around $100 and you don't have to worry about it cracking

I got a new Camaro flexplate from eBay and sold the Corvette one for about the same amount.

Default Gave in and bought one

Went ahead and just bought a SFI one as recommended. Probably save more time than it’s worth to find out if it really would work, which after looking closely I’m 99% sure it would.

Thanks for the the input guys.

You did good. I tried selling my C5 flexplate 3x's, couldn't give it away, it finally ended up in the garbage...
