Love it. If I tracked the car regularly I would for sure do the G Speed cooling upgrade because I can over heat the car pretty much instantly. Basically if its hot out I can do 2-3 laps max. and by hot, I mean 90F.
Ran it at COTA in 55F weather and it took it like a champ. I plan to run it again at COTA in this year in December
I am working on wing/splitter for it.

No Doubt M150 is great...but seriously overpriced and cant even do basic things like wideband onboard ! Which adds further cost.
I'm currently ripping one out of a vehicle to replace it with Syvecs

That is the exact reason I didn't go motec in the first place. ECU is $$, then you have to pay $ for seemingly basic software upgrades, wide band hardware so on. The advantages for me over something like Syvecs is that I have a friend who is going to get me up and running. They also seem to have decent post sales support, plus he is one of the top motec guys in the country so if I need something advanced he can do it (he does his own firmware from some big shops). He is making me a decent deal on the hardware, and says he will have it starting and running very quickly. With out his support I probably would have stuck with the Holley unit.
If I was doing another Porsche powered Porsche, Syvecs has some pretty nice stuff and I would probably go that route.
Stamped- its actually a V12 LS motor, but good enough for my use. Found it online.

First and foremost, someone competent to tune the thing is the most important aspect, so you're absolutely right for those reasons.
There's no doubt it is a very capable ecu...but it wouldnt be for me which is why I'm removing it ( although it isnt my car but I'll be working at it so changing for same reasons you are )
But the whole custom firmware and locked down setup Motec run with the M1 series would also put me off every considering one. When paying the amount of money they ask....it should be fully loaded from the outset and at any time thereafter to make use of features. You shouldnt be needing custom firmware or to be paying extra for features.
Some really basic stuff like the wideband LTC and their DHB are crazy prices !

The complexity of the motec is what turned me off when I bought the holley. And I dont mean the hardware/software but what you are mentioning.. the way its sold from a $ standpoint. I was looking at a huge price tag, and then I felt I didn't even really know what I was getting! If I didnt have an expert helping me (now) I wouldn't even think about it.
The good news for you is resale for motec is pretty damn good!

Excellent work.
Although I've had my engine mounted solid for many years now as clearance was always tight in my car, and TBH any noise or vibration concerns were unfounded at all. It's really not bad at all.

A nice style of engine mount that will still damp, and can even be rubber but still very strong are this design.

Seems more common with Jap applications, and not sure if they're using a generic image, but it's almost like a couple of leaf spring bushes side by side in sleeves to create a very solid, but still rubber mount.
So could easily be done DIY

Just found your thread. Very cool. I looked at a Boxster LS conversion a couple years ago but didn't like the stock transaxle for the power an LS will put down. Recently put a LS3 525 in a 996 with the 96.50 TT transaxle. Stuck with the GM LS ECU and the Porsche ECU to run the dash. Currently trying to get PSM + ABS to work, to pass out of province inspection and improve AutoX (and icy road) performance.

i love seeing high dollar builds like this and the quality workmanship that goes into as much as i love seeing the guys slam shitboxes together for pennies.
well done so far! cant wait to see the progression.

My 911 using proEFI handled the ABS/dash perfectly but that was with custom firmware. I am going to be using a digital dash and a Motec M150(building a custom dash), but I need ABS to work. Hoping I dont have to spring for a bosch ABS setup. I dont plan on racing the car much, so the extra capability of a racing style ABS would be a waste for me. But I do want ABS.

Jordon,
I have enjoyed your videos, I'm going to do my car much like yours pertaining to transmission placement and not worrying about the firewall being an issue.
Your power is surely much more than I am looking for but I totally get it ! I have seen a guy who has figured out how to use the PDK but it looks like its more
than I want to invest but I don't really know how much they want for the package or just the software. I'm going to contact them to find out more !! I bet you know who I'm referring to "Auto Bionics Ltd".
