TR-3650 for LS, options/?s.

TR-3650 for LS, options/?s. I picked up a TR-3650 out of an 03 Mustang, and have/had the intentions of making adapter for the LS, using the T56 bellhousing. But I'm at the point of selling it buying a used TKO, money wise might be cheaper using the 3650, if and when a replacement is needed.
What do you guys think?

I saw a thread on here a while ago where a guy was doing an LS swap and used a 3650 in the Fox Mustang. The biggest drawback was that the bellhousing was somewhere in the ballpark of $700 bucks.

Yes, that was/is my intention, the adapter is $450.00, plus you will need to get the 05 and up 3650 input shaft. Just a note, AMP is making 26 splined input shafts, and they are $300.00. I'm going to try and sell the 3650, get my money out of it and buy a TKO 500 I have a lead on. But, either way it's about the same $ wise.

I don't know this for a fact, but I think the 3650 is a better shifting transmission than the TKO. The TKO uses older T10 style synchro gears and they are inadequate for dealing with the mass of all the gears. I'm pretty sure the 3650 uses the better T56 design synchros.

Yes, please keep this thread updated! It would be great to find a budget friendly alternative to the T56. I had a 2001 GT Mustang and always loved the way that it shifted.
Well, the T5 was originally designed for use behind a 2.5 four cylinder in the AMC Spirit, it is amazing they managed to barely survive in the almost 200 hp 5.0 Mustangs and Camaros of the late eighties...

Well, l picked up another tr3650, came out of an 01 Cobra. It has an issue going into first, I was told it was raced a lot, the guy bought with a blown half shaft. This way l won't feel to bad tearing this one down, and it came with an aftermarket shifter. If l can sell the bellhousing and get most of my money back l would be happy. Need to make room for he tear down now.

I have a 3650 behind a ls
Call Bob Hanlon he can set you up with a adapter to bolt it to a conventional bellhousing.
You then need a quicktime bellhousing for a chevy engine to a ford trans. Lakewood has a pilot bearing for this application. Call Bob Hanlon he can set you up with a adapter to bolt it to a conventional bellhousing.
