hi, long time member need help on latest build
ls in a 77 el Camino. which oil pan and headers for the swap?

Use the Holley parts for second gen f-bodies.

I have a buddy with a Buick (same chassis, but I forget the exact year). He used the Holley parts and they fit perfectly. The front frame section on the 73-77 A-bodies is the same as 2nd gen f-body.

thanks for the pan info...………….found a 05 Tahoe 5.3 with 79k with trans.
what cam would be best for a street car?

TOTALLY depends on how you want to use it. A LOT more details needed.

...and if automatic (likely) questions/decisions about torque converter stall speed, rear gear, etc...

I don't know that it needs to be so complicated. With a heavy vehicle, I would choose a mild (stage 1..or whatever they want to call it) truck upgrade cam, from your favorite cam vendor.

I agree with you, Andrew, but it seems a lot of guys want strong low end and midrange, plus be able to rev to the moon. AND a nice lumpy idle.... They want it ALL... lol

Default 77 a body motor mounts
not sure what happened to the thread but just looking for help to install 5.3/4l60e in my 77
el camino. the holly oil pan looks like the ticket now on to motor mounts
any ideas on which mounts to use ?

If you like, I can check on what we used to execute the LS swap in the late 70’s Olds Omega in the Holley engineering lab.

Wasn't the Omega based on the Nova? X body, not A body.
