Default universal chassis harness?

Hello there,

i am in the middle of the build for my nissan 240sx with a LM7 on boost and well im at the point where i ripped out all the factory harnesses for the car itself to just run what i want which is custom gauges, radio and such.

now my question is if anyone has used these harness or know anyone that has?

If i need to remove the link because it violates any rules i will remove it just trying to get an answer.

Those work fine, but they are generally not made for high amperage loads of newer cars. I put one in and tried running dual oem radiator fans (40 amp load). I could feel the copper strip in the fuse block heating up.

Well its going into a 1993 nissan 240sx, and the only things i need to actually run on the harness are my headlights , turning signals gauges maybe because i think my engine harness will take care of most of those and i think the biggest thing that ill run will be radio and a sub.

I just recently started looking at these for my lemans. At 90$ it's probably worth a shot. Most of the time you end up doing some sort of upgrade for the wiring on the electric fans and or fuel pump anyways. So I guess buy it and us know how it goes.

ive never used that particular harness but i have used a couple american autowire, a few speedway motors and one from ezwiring. but my favorite is the speedway 22 circuit for $190. it comes with a gm headlight switch, and dimmer switch too. gm style fuse block also.

Problem with the hard wired systems is adding circuits. Stand alone fuse panels such as Centech or Haywire are much easier to understand and add circuits to.

Did you run the fans thru relays?

When I rip out the stock wiring in my TJ, I'm putting in 1 or 2 Switch Pros modules. $550/ea seems steep but it's all there and very compact with customizable buttons and functions. Bluetooth capable as well. I'll be wiring in the headlights, taillights, turn signals, all my other lights, ignition, momentary start, and anything else I need. Pretty cool technology. I know sPod makes similar kits but I'm more of a fan of the Switch Pros based off feedback I've seen on both.

Yes, but tried to run the current through that fuse block.
Ok, that harness had 2 separate feeds, battery and alternator to the fuse block on opposite sides of the copper strip that feeds the fuses. I used a larger single wire feed the block and on the opposite end of the copper strip I drew the current for new fuses for fans, AC, and fuel pump, thinking it was the highest amperage capability. But 40 amps + the extra other loads was apparently too much for the copper strip in the fuse block to supply that amperage. I could feel and smell the fuse block getting hot. Guessing not the best way to wire a marginal system probably designed for 60-70 amps.
Rewired with fan feed directly from alternator post.

I've used a few of the Painless universal 22? circuit harnesses with good success. All LS swap with high amp alternators.
