Thanks Mike for the info. Do the tires rub at all. I am trying to figure out how wide I can go with my current setup in my '65 Cutlass. 17x8 in front and 18x8 in rear. All with 4" of backspacing.

I took a chance, info is off a member on Team Chevelle that has a 64 with basically the same setup. He is also familiar with the DSE 65 Chevelle that has slightly wider fronts, claims neither rub.

Any plans to cover the truck intake? There is a guy that makes so really nice covers, He can make them with a custom design even.

A little update. Lots of little things done but unnoticed. Console is ready for the upholstery, doors and most of the glass is in. Fenders mounted, still working on gaps, we all know what a pita that can be. But this is how it sits now, waiting on a few more parts from paint.

Finally got to move the Chevelle outside, first time since it was painted. Loaded it to finish the exhaust. I used Pypes kit, they had to do a short piece from the shorty's to the trans cross member and a couple tail pieces, then button it all down. Pic is just after I got it hanging. Still working on getting front and rear glass installed. Hope the front end settles down a little. Did get to drive it up and down the driveway, seems to run and shift ok for no longer than I could go.

It looks like it's sitting at a level to slightly nose down stance from the pics. Unless you are looking for more of a rake, I think it looks good.
Putting the bumpers on will settle it some too.

Few more things done lately, windshield moldings painted and installed, test fit front bumper. It will get smoothed and painted body color.

Any update on the Chevelle? I have a 64 El Camino and am going down the road of trying to decide whether to 5.3 swap or build up my current 350 sbc. Mind if I ask a few questions?
1. What did you do for your fuel setup?
2. Looks like you used the truck accessories and intake right?
3. Where did you get the steering joints from?
Looks great and I really dig that color!

I've not had a lot of driving time with the swap, but so far i'm liking it. Right now it is at the upholstery shop, due to be back in Feb.
1. I used Tanks Inc, tank and their in tank pump, easy install, only draw back is its noisy. There are a few threads here detailing a pump swap that is much quieter and I will probably be looking into that.
2. Its pretty much bone stock truck motor, for me it was easy keeping it as close to stock as possible. I did do the harness myself using Lt1swap web site. Motor was on the engine stand for nearly 6 years while I was doing body work, once ECM was flashed it started right up with no check engine lights. FYI a stock hood wont fit with the truck accessories/alt. intake. I had two hood and both were junk, reason for the cowl hood.
3.U joints and double d shaft came from Amazon

I use a Deatschwerks DW300 in-tank pump in mine. From inside the car, it's so quiet I can't even hear it prime at key-on. Flawless performance for probably 10 years now. FWIW....
