3.6 swap with 5.3
I have a 2011 Chevy camaro with a v6 3.6l, 6-speed manual trans and I want to swap it with a 5.3L 2005 GMC Sierra but It would be my first v6 to v8 swap and I just wanted to know what I would need to know or what I would need for the swap.

Not trying to be a Debby downer here, but your v6 has 312 hp. You might be pissed after getting the swap done to find out that’s it’s not much stronger...if at all...with a 5.3
if your going to go v8, go with an aluminum variant. You can find used 6.2’s for a great price. Believe me you’ll appreciate the effort.

Anyone able to tell me the best manual transmission that would be compatible with this swap?

Bore the 5.3 to 5.7 use 4.8 flat top pistons use a LS7 intake, TSP cam and 862 heads reworked. For a few thousand dollars you might make a hundred more HP. You might get away with the transmission you have. Lotsa work for not much gain if you stay NA. If you insist using the 5.3 twin turbo it and then it might be worth while.

I have a 2014 3.6 5th gen Camaro and my engine is blown I took it as an opportunity to swap it Im aware this isn’t gonna be cheap but I’m also not planning on spending a crazy amount of money (I’m a freshman in college working a minimum wage job) and I’m planning on swapping it with a 5.3 engine with a 4l60 e transmission that I found for 1,700 I wanted to know if it’s possible, also everything I am going to need and should be prepared for, and how much money I will be spending?
