I’m running the Tanks Inc tank. Bought it with the 255 pump and corvette regulator. Worked very well with my LS2/LS3 setup. Now with my 434, I installed a 450 pump in the same basket, which didn’t work with the Corvette regulator. Had to go with an adjustable FPR to get pressure down to 58, and obviously an in-line fuel filter. Overall very pleased with the tank setup. I’m not running the notched setup. My exhaust is dumped in front of axle.

A couple updates, I've got all the wiring out and plan on spraying the engine bay this weekend and start getting all the new wiring installed. A lot to get done by my goal in April.

More progress on the swap, the engine and trans are in and all lines are ran. The wiring is getting started now.

Your installation looks great. How much clearance do you have between the PS pump reservoir and the steering box?

Todd,
Thanks! I don't have much at all I'm afraid I may have to loosen the gearbox up and let it drop to get the hose on the pump and then slide it back up. Other than that everything has fit pretty well. I'm having to plug the MAT sensor into the breather tube where I mounted the IAT sensor. The 4L80E does fit with some massaging of the tunnel at the tail housing but it is definitely tight.

I will pass along your report the the team that designs the Holley accessory drive components. I had heard in the past that they were considering designing an optional remote PS reservoir for the Holley mid-mount set-up, so they might find your information useful towards that effort. Yes, the 4L80 install is an exercise in patience for sure. The transmission mount that the Hooker Blackheart kit is designed around is 1-3/4", so you may want to confirm the mount you are using matches that height. The Energy Suspension mount that guys commonly use is taller than that if you install the pre-load plate they state is required to be used. The Hooker Blackheart and Prothane poly mounts are both 1-3/4" tall.

I was able to confirm that the remove reservoir is something that they are working on. No tentative release date is available at this time.

Update! The car runs and fired right up with the Terminator X Max. Definitely can't say enough good things about the fitment of everything using the Holley components. Just a few odds and ends to finish up before driving it now.

Nice Chevelle. I'm doing an LY6/4L80 swap into an 83 MCSS. What flex plate did you go with? Did you use a spacer?

I didn't use a spacer, I'll find the part number of the flexplate I purchased from Summit and send you a message with it.

I have put almost 1k miles on the swap so far and everything is great except for when the motor and transmission is operating temperature the transmission tries to stall in reverse like the converter is locking up. In all the forward gears everything is great and when the transmission is cold reverse is great just not once warm. My transmission guy thinks this may be a pump issue in the transmission so I'm working on getting a core to have built and just swap it out. The car is averaging around 18mpg and probably still a little more timing left to put it in with the Terminator X Max.
