Motor Mount Recommendations

I have a L92 from an 07 Denali I'm about to put into my 70 Nova, Out of the box, the motor was rated around 417 ft/lbs of torque and after the modest modifications in the overhaul/rebuild I anticipate pushing that number closer to 500. I'm worried about the extra stress from the torque that original mounts may not handle. Is this a false worry where I can stay with original mounts, or is there a heavier mount recommended?

If the mounts are in good shape, there should be no issue.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the originals. They went with the 307 when I sold it. However, I can get "original" replacements and it sounds like you are saying they'll handle the job. Appreciate the feedback!

Having said what you said, you might look into the Holley/Hooker swap mounts for putting an LS into a Nova. They ARE well engineered and will handle the power for sure.

Great mounts. Be aware those mounts work with the 72 and up sbc clamshell style frame side mounts. I'm sure you are planing to swap the oil pan as well. The truck pan will hang way to low.

Yessir! Got the Holley 302-2 oil pan and the recommended dipstick tube to go with it. Also went with the Hooker 12627 transmission cross member kit to accommodate a 4L60e.

I think you just have to keep your ear to the ground on that. Holley likes to keep us in the dark until it actually happens.... meanwhile check with Summit to see if/when they might do a promo on Holley goods.
