Default LY6 PCV Routing

I'm swapping a LY6 in my 70 Chevelle using the stock valve covers and a Holley Sniper intake and Holley billet DBC throttle body. My question is how should I route the PCV system. I"m going to buy a catch can but un-sure of which I should route every thing. Any advise is appreciated, below is a picture of the setup so far.

Well if its speed density you could run both valve covers to a dual catch can with 2 breathers on it. If maf then run the driver side to a vented catch can (since there appears to be no manifold provision) and the passanger to the throttle body before the blade towards the maf.

Make sure you add a pcv restrictor on the dirty side.

PCV:

1.) I'd connect the passenger front port to the throttle body or air duct between the air filter and throttle body.
2.) Run a line from the rear port on the driver side around the back of the intake and along the top of passenger cylinder head to a sealed catch can and from the can through an inline PCV valve to the intake manifold.

Non PCV:

Install a breather on the oil fill cap and then run a hose from the driver side valve cover port to a breather can. I have a 427 ci engine and I removed the ports from both valve covers and installed 10AN bungs and ran 10AN lines to a breather can.

Here's an example of a breather can set up. There's another 10AN bung at the back of the driver side valve cover.

Ok this is easy. Driver side to a breatherless catch can to intake. Passanger side to throttle body. Done.

I see that these ports are on the back of the intake manifold. The larger port is for a vacuum brake booster if your using one. The next size down can be connected to the driver side valve cover from a sealed catch can through an inline PCV then to the intake manifold. Passenger to throttle body an done. If your running an older style transmission one of the smaller ports provides vacuum to the vacuum control module on the transmission and the others can be capped off.

They're known as sealed catch cans! Breathers and breather cans are for venting the crankcase to atmosphere.

Chris, sorry to drag up an old thread but… how do you like that intake? Im REALLY wanting to go that route but I hear all the negativity (noisy, loss of power etc). My project is just a cruiser so Im not worried about the power part unless its REALLY noticeable. Any info you could share from your experience would be appreciated!

The intake is pretty noisy with the hood raised but inside the car it isn't that noticeable. The loss of power i can't say as I've never had another intake on this setup to compare it too. The combo runs good for me and is very dependable.

Those fab’d intakes tend to trade a lot of bottom end torque for a few top end HP. Most people buy them for their looks.
