Default My 1970 c10 4.8 nv3500

This is my 70 c10 I bought from my friends wife after he died from cancer. When I got it it had a 305 and a nv833 4 speed from a mid 80s c10. I put a 350 in it from my chevelle soon after getting it. So a couple weeks ago the mechanical fuel pump went, so it was the perfect opportunity to put an ls in it haha. I had a 99 gmc I took the 4.8 out of. I’m using the mechanical fan radiator and possibly overflow jug from the 99 truck. The nv3500 5 speed I got from a junkyard in Binghamton ny. I’ve been wanting to update the truck for a while. My fiancé got me a speedway harness for Christmas a couple years ago so I am changing that too with a painless performance bulkhead connector installed. I also wanted to get rid of the fuel tank in the cab, so I bought a spectra part # jp1e tank for a 1990 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 fuel injected and mounted it under the bed. Sending unit is from a 94 s10 blazer part# hp10004 I believe. Which fits perfect and even had the correct fe0114 fuel pump for the 58 psi installed already. I am using lsx innovations motor mount plates with 73-87 mounts and frame stands.i put front disc brakes and control arms along with the steering box an linkage from an 85 c10. Lowered about 2” all the way around. I am going the patina route on the truck . The bed was white so I painted it orange and scuffed it down. The roof is now silver with a lot of flake in it.

I love these firewall connectors integrated the motor wiring into the 22 circuit speedway harness

PCM mounted behind drivers headlight area on an s10 pcm mount

Clutch master and slave from a 91 k1500. Mounted behind my booster.

With the pedal pushed all the way it it bottoms out the master cylinder before the pedal hits the firewall. So I’m either gonna put in a bump stop or make a spacer to put between the master and firewall.

It’s been running and driving for a while now, I don’t update thread much. Runs great, could use valve seals though. With the 5 speed it’s really nice also. just cruises. Jeep tank works great, it’s a bit small at 15 gallons but it doesn’t hang low. I used the stock 99 truck radiator, hoses, and radiator overflow. Trailblazer 5.3 exhaust manifolds with shorty Jegs Flowmaster style mufflers. Next on the agenda is a new radiator support and fix the floor.

Looks like a nice swap. How does the truck feel power wise compared to the old SBC?

It was a mild 350 before but it definitely feels like more power more responsive too.
