Default 88 OBS with gen 3 5.3, Holley sniper

Got this from a friend that ran out of cash. Made a trade and been trying to finish it.

New paint, new interior.

04 5.3, ported and milled 243s, little chopper cam. TH375 for now that has a 3800 converter. 3.42 rear gear.

going to be a bad *** cruiser.

chased my tail getting it to run. Down to needing to figure out a start and idle issue. Have to hold the throttle open for it to run. I’ll hopefully get that situated tomorrow

Just pull it off and throw a 750DP on it. Problem solved.

I would give it a chance before replacing it, It's a good system if setup properly.

that is my plan. Sadly the oil pressure hit zero for whatever reason. Left it at my buddies. I’ll check with a mechanical gauge tomorrow in case the OBS sensor just broke

I tune Sniper and other Holley EFI systems. Let me know if I can be of service.

FWIW,

We stopped installing Snipers at the shop because we've had so many problems with them...and we are a Holley EFI shop.

They are great when they work though.

Landed a L76 for this thing today. At least that’s what I assume it is. Has dish pistons. So I’m just going to use my LY6 short block and swap pistons in the aluminum block later

terminator X is in. Have a NNBS intake ready to go. I’ll see if that gets this thing running right til I swap in the 6 liter

Love it man, any tips / tricks for the OBS? Anything super annoying or easier than you thought it would be? Love to hear more on the wiring aspect of it, 12v switched, crank, factory wiring, etc.

so far it is rather easy. I’m used to my f body’s and mustangs. So this has more room everywhere.

but, to get this look, it’s a C notch, axle flip and other **** that isn’t exactly super quick.

as for the EFI, it’s pretty simple for install. But the thick harness getting in to the cab on some vehicles might be a bit of a issue that might require creativity

You'll like the TerminatorX and that intake setup way more than the Sniper. If I can help with the tuning, let me know.
