Default Radiator support

I’m swapping a ls1 out of a 99 corvette into a 73 camaro. I ordered a radiator for a 2000 camaro thinking it would work since it’s the same engine and I was wrong lol. The radiator ports for the upper and lower hoses are not the same size as what on the thermostat and on the water pump. I don’t really want to get a 99 corvette radiator because the corvette had a different set up with the separate coolant reservoir on the 99s. Can you guys help me out with some options? Will it create problems to put a thermostat housing on the water pump from a 2000 camaro if it will fit for the smaller hose size? Should I replace the whole water pump, and if I do that will it work with the other front accessories I have from the stock 99 corvette?

did some quick searching for you, check out the thread below. A few companies make radiators specific for LS swaps in many different older styles, BeCool, Griffin, Even Summit has some available too.

You could get replacement radiator. Hose routing and witch FEAD will dictate which radiator you will need. Maybe a water pump too )

I have a Afco LS swap radiator. Haven’t run it long enough to see if it’s a good one or not. Summit Racing has dedicated LS swap radiators as well as name brand pcs too. You could just go with. generic LS swap radiators. I think B-Cool markets one LS Boneyard or something like that.

Theres a lot out there you don’t have to spend 1k.

I've used an LS Camaro radiator in a few swaps. They bolt right into most GM cars. The hoses were fine for me. Did you get a V6 rad?

no it’s a v8 one but it was a LS Camaro Radiator and the engine was out of a 99 corvette so the hoses are different sizes

I tried this route. I couldn’t deal with the slanted radiator cap. Would of been a lot cheaper if it didn’t bother me Lol

Just find the right hoses for your application. Nothing wrong with one side being smaller then the other. They actually make hoses with different end sizes.
