Default Terminator X kit question.

I couldn't find any info on it, but maybe one of you fellas know. I bought a Holly Terminator kit for a 24x gen3 LS engine, i am curious is there anything i need to swap over to a gen4 LS engine? I know the camshaft sensor reads differently between the two, can this be fixed via software?

I recommend that you join the Holley Terminator X group on facebook, this question has been asked/detailed there several times. Yes, you can convert your existing harness.

In general, you need to make sure your cam sensor is wired correctly. You may need to cut a tab/key out of the connector. Done correctly, I believe the Gen 3 cam/crank sensors are 12v and gen IV are 5v, but it seems many don't both to change this and its no issue.

From the last post:

We buy the 58x and swap the outside cam sensor wires for the 24x cam sensor(1x) and cut the thing walls out of the sensor plug so it can then fit 24 and 58x sensors for the crank.
Extend the cam sensor harness and cut the alignment tab out of your 58x crank sensor and plug it up, change to 58x in the software.
Just switched from 58x to 24x the other day. Told the computer it was 24x, trimmed the little tab out of the crank sensor connector and it fired right up. Will this work for all of them? Got me
but it worked for mine. No repinning or harness change.
You can just swap to 58x but if the new motor has a front cam sensor you gotta make sure the wiring to that plug is correct. Usually you have to swap the outside wires. Done this on my car more than once.
Some will talk about 5v and 12v sensors but gm sensors have been tested past 16v with no issues

Like Haggar said...Its a Piece of cake!! I bought my Terminator X kit for an LS1 (24X) a couple years back. My plans changed and used a 2010 6.2 (58X)
adjusting for the change was as easy as I had hoped it would be.
I bought the ICT Cam sensor extension (which conveniently swaps the outside 2 wires) ...So that part is done. The crank sensor plug alignment pin wont let the gen 3 plug go into the Gen 4 sensor. Its wired correctly, so cut off the alignment pin with a razor blade, and it plugs right in.
I then had to download the latest software into my handheld (as it was 2 years old).....I followed youtube video for that.

After that , I plugged everything in went thru the wizard , and it fired right up.....literally. I haven't driven it. but I ran it long enough to warm up, let it cool down, and it started right up again. Have no fear, just don't skip any details...or grounds. Good Luck!

I went through this last year with my car and ended up just selling my 24x harness and buying a used 58x harness. I had seriously considered just modifying my original 24x, but I wanted it to be "right". There's probably someone out there that would swap your 24x for a 58x if you put it out there.

Holley has a video on YT covering this exact question and what to swap on the harness.

does that extentsion with the cam sensor wires swapped plug dierectly into the cam sensor or did it go into the bracket sub harness on timing cover??

Do i want to disregard this piece and just plug straight into the cam sensor……im only asking cause i have a fresh built L96 for when my 370” LSA lq9 goes kaput!!!…….or the lm7 in the c10 in this pic gives up the smoke……thanks in advance
