Exclamation Starter interfering with block help

Doing a ls swap on my s10 (like a year into the build lol if not more) So I bought the smallest starter I could find I believe it is a Powermaster XS Torque. Well it seems to be hitting the block in 3 different places the main concern is that it is hitting the *fin* that is in the block itself. Let me know if you guys think this will be okay please. I'm also worried about header clearance but I guess ill cross that bridge when I get to it. I have pictures let me know what you guys think please! thank you!!

I have a S10 that I swapped 10 years ago. Not that the swap has anything to do with this issue. So what was the starter purchased for? I'm guessing a F body LS1? The blocks are not all exactly the same, even though they are all LS blocks. You should be able to get a factor truck starter in there no problem.
Everything will be dependent on the mounts you used for the engine and transmission, but like I said, I built mine 10 years ago, and there was only 2 people I could find that made mounts back then, and mine goes in and out.
With all of that said, a Buick Rainier 5.3 starter is the smallest factory starter that will work on a truck style LS block.
I did have to grind on a square block, that is cast on the block for I believe the headers to fit square against the cylinder head in I believe your last picture.
You should be able to clearance all of those spots on your block with a grinder to get that starter to fit with some room around it.

Get a gen v Camaro.GM starter They’re small and cheap. Remember to get the pigtail and heat shield with the bolts.

Well I didn't order it for a certain ls this is a starter i believe for one the new corvettes like an ls7 or something. But I got it because it was the smallest one I could find as well as it had really good reviews, but I was thinking of grinding a little of that fin on the block and it would sit good but it still is sitting against where the block and oilpan meet which is what I'm wondering if it would be okay or not. @rpturbo edit:btw i used trans dapt motor mounts and trans dapt crossmember the trans is not in yet as I found ALOT of water in the tranny.

It looks to me like you can clearance the block and make it work, but that's based on pictures, which can be deceiving.

@rpturbo Yeah I can clearance the block which will make the starter sit square.. but mainly I'm asking if its just touching/sitting against the block/oilpan in the other spots is that alright? like the engine revving or something isn't going to rip the starter out of the threads right? lol sounds like a dumb question but this is my first engine swap I want to be sure.

Isn't that starter clockable? If it is you can just turn it to a location that best suits your needs. I used a similar one and clocked it upside down for best header clearance. I would definitely not leave it binding up like that.

looks like the same starter i put on my z06. you can loosen some bolts and rotate the motor on the mounting flange. you need to adjust its clocking to not hit anything.
