Default Fuel system for a 1979 firebird 5.3 ls swap

Hi, I’m curious as to what I should do for a fuel system, like a fuel filter, a regulator, and hose lines. I know I don’t want to drop my gas tank and put in a in tank pump, so what should I do for parts?

I am kinda "new" to the LS swap stuff... but I used the "corvette style" filter/regulator (summit/wix type) with nylon braided CPE hose (non E-85) and AN fittings. I believe the key is that the fittings and hose are able to handle atleast the minimum fuel pressure needed..I believe it is 58PSI. my fuel pumps are the AC DELCO ep-381 in tank pumps (my swap is a '86 C10 p/u with dual tanks). hope this helps and good luck!

In the past I've used the C5 FFR and external Bosch 044 fuel pump. Worked well never failed.
You have to have a fuel return back to the tank. On my first LS swap (79 Camaro) I drilled a hole in the fuel level sender and had a 3/8" nipple brazed in for the return line. Then ran SS -6 back to the tank and up to the fuel rail.
Your 79 tank is not baffled so keep at least 1/4 fuel level so you don't uncover the fuel pick up.
