Default 69 Camaro 6.0 lq4

This has been a slow project as well Im just slow lol. I have the engine sitting in the car. I used dirty dingo mounts and they seem to work well. This used to be a race car and still has the 4l80 trans. A standard flywheel bolts right up. I removed the midplate as I wont have that much hp and it will interfere with the exhaust.

So exhaust. I thought I scored a new set of hedman headers on marketplace. The guy said they were for a 69 camaro but ended up being for a 70 c 10. I paid to much for them but they are new maybe I will use them on a pickup. Note to self dont trust anyone on markerplace.

So now that I blew my tiny budget on the wrong headers what do yall recommend besides factory manifolds. Yuck.

I've used Speed Engineering headers on a couple LS swap projects. 68 C10 and a 80 Camaro. I know they are made in China. I just can't spend $1200 plus on a set of headers. They fit well and zero leaks.

Got the headers in. They look good. Fit nice except for hitting the passenger side a arm. Its aftermarket so they probably would fit the stock a arms. I see a small dent in their future.

Is it actually hitting the top arm mounting bolt? Shortening the bolt might be easier and look better....

No its hitting the bearing housing. A small dent should do it. I hate to dent them but there is no other way.

The pic doesn't look that way, but he said above that it's hitting the bushing, not the bolt. So he'll hafta dimple it, looks like....

Looks nice. I've been running the DD motor mounts in my '67 Camaro for a while.

I have the engine bolted in for good. I hope.
I am going to start collecting parts. I need a water pump I know its a dumb question but there are so many types out there. I will run a electric fan. Right now I am just going to have a alternator but later will probably have power steering and a/c. What would be a good unit to use?

Look into ICT Billet brackets, the prices are hard to beat. They cover all of the different spacings from the engine.

After doing some research Looks like I will have to have power steering and a/c. I was planing on it anyway. So First step will be a power steering box. I also bought a ac delco starter. Moving in the right direction. I need to win the lottery lol

Depending on how you are planning your layout the '11 Camaro water pump allows use of a (sometimes) cheaper SBC radiator because the outlet is on the opposite side. It uses truck accessory spacing which also is very common.
