Hey guys. Did a 98 v6 to v8 swap. Built an LQ4 and a factory t56. I did the 0411 pcm pin out swap for the pcm. Put the fluids in the car and went to start but am getting no crank. I can get the starter to engage from jumping the starter relay. Did a vats bypass at both the key and the pcm was changed to “none” under the vats tab in hptuners. My security light does shut off and the car did start prior to the swap. Fuel pump is engaged when the key is turned to the on position.
Im not sure why I’m not getting a signal to crank.

 

Is there keyed (key on "start") power to the start relay?

 

No just the continuous power side.

 

Also it will not run when jumping the starter. Just cranks. I dunno if it’s vats or what but it started as a v6.

 

Are you sure there isn't a fuel delivery issue? Have you tested pressure at the rails while cranking? Verify spark?

Doesn't sound like a VATs issue to me at this point, especially if it is turned off via HPT and you have grounded/bypassed the bcm for the starter circuit.
