Lq9
Lq9 Evening everyone I just picked up a 2005 C6 at auction with a blown engine….. my question is can I run an lq9 block, still use my ecu so I can pass obd2 inspection? If I can what would be needed to make this swap work in my c6… Thanks in advance for any info

Thanks budd for all your help…. I actually found someone that will do a resleeve on the damaged cylinder…. Hopefully nothing lose is screwed up or else I’m gna grab a motor somewhere lol

You can use any LS style block (iron or aluminum), aftermarket or GM, from 1997-whenever...... and absolutely nothing will change in your ECU or Emmissions. Only going Gen3 to Gen4 has a couple extremely simple sensor changes like CAM and Knock sensors, they sell a cheap wiring harness for that issue, which is what I bought for my new engine.

My local builder is about to assemble an all new 370ci with forged rods and pistons for boost if you're in the market.
So that Corvette PCM is 58x Gen IV stuff, keep that in mind.
Block wise, yea they are the same just where the sensors are and some have the DOD stuff where others don't.

🤷♂️ lol…. Should I do a valley cover block off plate as Im going to mount the knock sensors onto the block… I’m thinking I’m going to have to run a catch can for the pcv system if I do this any suggestions?
