Guys Im finally getting around to share my swap I did in my Camaro still got some front suspension work to do and front brakes. Just finished up 4l80e swap with FTI converter and new 3.55 rear gear.
Beautiful car with a very well done interior.
In the underside pic, I see what might be a subframe connector on the right side, but none on the left side. My suggestion is to weld in subframe connectors before going crazy as you sure don't want to bend the body.

Yes it’s and old home made subframe connector I removed the left side and going to remove the right side who ever put them on welded them to the floor pan and I needed to change body bushings and couldn’t raise body off of frame due to them being welded to floor pan I plan on removing it and putting some new frame connectors on.
Just had the car dynoed at Raceproven performance 362 to the wheels through 4l80e and quick performance 9” with FTI converter. It’s still there at the shop having cnc ported and polished 243 heads installed and tuned hope to hit the 400rwhp mark
On my '81 Camaro I have solid (Aluminum) body bushing in the rear where my full welded subframe connectors are. I do have rubber bushings in the middle and front.
IIRC when I was very active on the nastyz28.com forum, the recommendation was to use solid bushing with subframe connectors.
Clearly, solid bushings are needed next to the subframe connectors, but to reduce NVH, I decided on rubber bushings in the middle where I think the vast majority of the body weight sits.

I did not notice any difference; no vibration even in rear view mirror. I did briefly try solid mounts in the middle and I definitely noticed that. Just checked and I have the rubber mounts in the front too.
I know it's a different car, but I have solid mounts on my '66 Chevelle and wouldn't hesitate doing it again. Ride is just fine. I do have completely upgraded suspension including coil-overs, but my ride is just fine. In my first Chevelle 25 years ago, I have rubber body mounts with cut coil springs to lower it and it rode WAY harder.
Nice build! Love 2nd gen Camaros also. The interior is looking clean! Turbos are too easy to make power..... and as I get older... quieter is good which you can make a turbo 1000hp+ setup a total sleeper if you want.
Thanks guys for all the comments the car needs paint the clear coat is starting to flake but it’s been 20 years or longer since it was last painted. I guess I’ll put the solid body mounts in the rear when I get around to putting in my subframe connectors. I still have upper and lower control arms with Viking bolt in coil overs and front brake up grade to do this winter so should be totally different car after that.

looking at the vsracing gen 2.5 78/75. I have nothing but good stuff to say about quick performance I’ve emailed them a few times and they always responded quickly very nicely built rear end also I did the break in procedure and just now got a little over 500 miles. It’s at the shop getting cnc ported and polished 243 heads and a dyno tune so I’m hoping at least 400rwhp looking for 650rwhp with turbo.
