Just wondering if a Fast LSXHR intake will fit under a 2” cowl hood in a 1981 Camaro. The 408 I’m buying comes with either a LSXHR intake or the lower height LSXR intake
I know personally that the LSXR fits with even the 1" (carbon fiber) cowl I have now. My previous 2" cowl had most of the clearance in the mid-rear where the SBC air cleaner would sit; the LSXHR might need more clearance closer to the front of the hood.
If you are just starting this swap, I would recommend the LSXR to minimize problems; you have still have a lot to figure out.
FYI, over 12 years on my '81 Camaro I have had both LS2 and LS3 engines, 5 different intakes, 5 different cams, 3 different serpentine setups, 3 different headers, 2 different exhausts, 2 different gas tanks, etc, etc.
