Default New LS newbie got a ?

I'm late to the party and new to the LS stuff so please go easy on me lol but im doing my first ls swap and I'm not sure what motor to go with? Going N/A build if anything just want to add cam headers and tune. I been reading good stuff with the lq4/lq9s then been reading up on the ls1s ls3s and ls6s and are available in my area on marketplace so been scratching my head on what route to go with. It's going into a 80s cadillac. I was leaning more into finding a 6.2 from a vette to move the bigboy backed with a 4l80e transmission. If you was me what would you choose?

Being it's going into an 80s Caddy, I imagine you're not going road racing or drag racing.
I'm guessing a nice BUT powerful cruiser.
You WANT displacement, since you're keeping it mild and naturally aspirated.
I would source a 6.2 out of a truck since there are more of them than Camaros or Vettes.
An L92 or L94 are what you want, and usually came in Yukons, Escalades, and some GMC pickups.
Stock, they put out 403 HP. A decent cam like a 212/218 with about .550 lift will pump it up about 30-40 HP.
Not sure you can find headers for this combo but if you do, another 15-20 HP.
Tuning will bring it all together.

Yes your absolutely correct! A great cruiser with some nice power to get it around town to push the big girl. Want it to sound good was thinking a sloppy stage 2 came but not sure which one to go with. Like a nice choppy sound not fast but slow if that makes sense but makes good power as well. Thinking a ls6 I take or a tbss intake not sure what size headers to get

The LY6 is a 6.0 iron block and has VVT (Variable valve timing)
The L99 is a 6.2 aluminum block that has both VVT and AFM/DOD (Active Fuel Management/ Displacement On Demand)
To delete those will need a new cam. A chop sounds cool, but cams like that have far less low-end power. NOT a good idea with heavy cars

It's your choice, but I would lean more towards something in the 212/218 duration range with about .550-.600 lift and 112 LSA
It'll have a little lope but still be very strong in the range your Caddy can best use.

Just about everyone has a 212/218 cam or one within a few degrees. Summit, Cam Motion, Comp.....
