Default LSA Swap Muffler Reccomendation

I have a 1995 Buick Roadmaster Wagon with a Gen 4 6.0 and an LSA blower swapped into it. When I first did the swap I didn’t have the blower and ran 2.5”shorty headers with cut outs and eventually into the stock Roadmaster mufflers and resonators. I loved the quiet daily driving I could do and the option to open the cut outs for a little sound.

Fast forward and now I have the blower on top with 2 7/8” long tube headers and 3” exhaust. I started with straight through mufflers and it about blew your ears out. I then went to chambered mufflers which helped but was still kinda loud and had a drone at cruising speed. I added a set of borla xr-1 racing mufflers in line with the chambered mufflers and it took the drone out. It still pretty loud while doing normal daily driving activities.

I’ve been thinking about going back to cut outs and finding a set of nice mufflers that will really quiet it down during normal driving. Does anyone have any suggestions on which direction to go? I’ve redone it so many times now I don’t want to do it again by making the wrong muffler choice. Or is it just going to be loud with the 3” exhaust?

Thank you in advance.

If you are looking to quiet it down, look into Dynomax turbo mufflers. Or on my buddies Chevelle I did dual 3.5 Flowmaster style mufflers. Really large body they were for an rv or biggish truck. O.K. at wot but not bad everywhere else. I have the dynomax on my Monte Carlo with a Magnusen charged 6.0.

I run the Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators as mufflers. I went from open dumps to (2) 3.5 in/out Vibrant resonators and it made a SIGNIFICANT difference in sound. Idle and cruise were quiet but it still sounded great/loud at WOT

Look into Karnage Performance mufflers. I have used their mufflers on both my builds and they are top notch.

Borla Pro XS on my last two. Love the sound and little to no drone.

These mufflers are from a 2007 Mustang GT. 2.5" ins and outs. All Stainless Steel. I welded on straight nipples and mounted them under the back seat with tail pipes to the rear bumper. They sound great, no drone, great cruise sound, and great bark when you jump on the throttle. They're on my LS powered street rod with no cats, shorty headers, and an H pipe. Love them. Great choice for your wagon. I've found over the years, the aftermarket performance mufflers are way too loud, drone, and rattle your brains out.

This looks interesting.
What dimensions does it have?
Is it four chambers?
I try to understand the flow.

Mufflers housings are 14" long and you got the flow and built in resonator right. I would use them again in a heart beat. A friend of mine took them off his car with less than 10,000 miles. He put on a cat back system with ridiculous abbreviated mufflers. I rode in the car and it made the car absolutely miserable. The Drone was the worst I ever experienced. It felt like somebody was beating on your chest with a baseball bat. He wanted the original mufflers back. Too late, there're on my car. I will give Ford a lot of credit for this muffler design. The built in Helmholts Resonator Chamber makes it work. Sound great and perform. I found the cut away picture on the Internet. Any good quality turbo muffler would work.
