Working on our 69 Pontiac Tempest LS swap. Installing a 4.8 w/4L60E from 1999 GMC Sierra using the Holley A Body LS swap kit.

Getting to the point I need to get the serpentine belt installed after installing the smaller Dorman ps pulley/using stock truck harmonic balancer/spacing. The car is a 5 hr. drive away and I am hoping someone has the approximate belt size/part number for me. That way can pick up a belt before going back to work on the car again. Can buy a few belts if necessary, up/down from recommended belt.

Smaller Pulley some people have said the Belt is 1" shorter. Call Holley and see what the stock Belt size is for that kit and go from there.

Just off the phone with Holley c/s , they have no belt size/part number recommendation. Their suggestion to do the string procedure.

When you do that account for what the Tensoiner movement needs to be.

Pick up 3 belts:
96.5"
97.5" (this is usually the sweet spot)
98.5"

I'd go string method minus 1", that will account for the Tensoiner.

 

On serpentine setups I've had good luck using ratchet strap webbing. Even easier if you have a second set of hands. You can get really close.

Then I buy belts on amazon usually in a 2 inch spread and then returns the ones that don't fit quite right lol.
