I'd be interested in a conversion kit as well for the Fox. I have a '90 LX that is my daily driver, but love the way the LS1 runs. I would like to keep all the creature comforts as well. A/C is a necessity here in Phoenix, so I'm wondering how hard it would be to run the LS1 A/C system off of the Mustang's original controls. Also, I'm assuming power steering and brakes would be OK???? Anybody have some insight?

Since I'm not an expert at what all goes into the LS1 I think what you have listed there is a good start. Also, what about an adaptation for using the hydraulic clutch for the T56 with the Mustang clutch pedal or something of that nature and (maybe out of range of a quick conversion) a way to use the stock Mustang HVAC controls to control A/C on the LS1.

Also, since I'm not an expert at what all goes into fabricating my wish list of parts I couldn't really give an exact price range, but $700 to $800 sounds reasonable.

I think $1200 would be reasonable with the parts you listed. Heck the k-member for my car was almost $400. Add money for the headers and labor to convert them to LS1 type. Didn't you say 351 fox body headers work with GM flanges welded on. You've got to make something on the deal too.

I was thinking around $1000 too. For a kmember/motor mounts, crossmember, headers, and linkages...$100-1200 doesn't seem too bad

So does a fox go faster with a stock longblock LS1 or an Stock 03 Cobra motor? Hehe.
Awesome project. I'd love to have one in a 6M. That'd be the ultimate street fighter. Cam, Heads, N20. Think it could run 8s?

Not yet... I believe that the headers I recently made(for a '66 Chevy II I posted pics of) will also work on Fox conversions. I should be able to test this soon - and if so, a kit will SOON be available!

Good news. Is a K member really required in the kit with the tubular K members and someone said the 4.6 K members will work. Linkage, mounts, and crossmember I think would be the hard things for those of us that can't or do not have the equipment/time/space to fab it up.

Also will 351 LTs work if the flange is changed to the LS1 style?

As for cross members I'd like to see a T56 Trans mount too.

A notch Fox with LS1 at 3,000 lbs could make for a good track days/road racer

My little notch is at 2800 lbs raceweight, and I still have the Iron 5.0 liter and iron heads on it. I bet that the LS1 motor in its entirety must be 200 lbs lighter.

Imagine a cam/headers/converter LS1 with a 150 shot pushing a 2600 lb car with a factory 4 link and 9in ch rear end?

Its not "Will I do it?"... Its "When will I do it?"

Although I've sold my Fox/conversion, the guy that bought it is going forward. We've since put a fuel cell in it and done some finishing up on it. It should easily run 6's in the 1/8 on motor and the ecu is already tuned for a 100 dry shot. And - we've gone to 275-60r15 Mickey Thompson DR's.

The car should barely weigh 2600lbs with driver. Full Wolfe rear race suspension and in-floor subframes with a beefed up 8.8. Which is lighter and more effecient than a 9".

Unless you notch or cut back the stock LS1 F-body oil pan, it will not clear the factory K. The new GTO front sump pan should work, but it's probably easier and maybe even cheaper in the long run to just switch out the K-members.

Yes, the 351 LT's do work. That's what I used, but both sides required fairly extensive modification to get them to work.

The Fox GT crossmembers 'slide' back and forth - giving you good adjustability - when you grind the tack welds. It should work fine for the T-56, but you will probably need to shim it and drill another hole to fit it just right.

Sorry, but I won't be doing a kit for this. I've closed my business, and just do some exhaust stuff on the side right now.
