Default My 69 Update

My car was in the 07/04 issue of PHR. Since then, I added a set of cast valve covers, and relocated the coils. I also put a shorter 26" tire on it. Here are pics of the changes.

What motor mounts did you use?
Where did you get the valve covers?

We made the motor mounts. The valvecovers are from Katech.

Default steering

What steering setup do you have? Rack and Pinion, manual or power? I want to drop an ls1 or ls6 in my 67 RS/SS this winter and have to have those long tube headers on mine. Thanks.

If you have the stock steering box, power or not, you will have to do some modification to the stainless works long tube headers, that you see in the picture as they are for cars with the Rack a Pinion upgrade. I belive that this car actually has a manual steering box which makes the modification to the headers a little easier b/c it's not as big as the power.

Ls1 Speed, Those fuel rails look really good do you have any docs on how you built them or how much they cost? And I know this is off toppic but I love those kenisise(sp?) wheels where did you buy them from, direct or from a distributor? Trying to get a good price. Thanks in advance!

I heard that the stainless works headers ONLY work on 1 gen w/ rack and pinion
Can they be used w/ a power steer box
What do you have to do to them to make them fit?

A tube or two have to be rebuilt. FYI, we also have used FLotech 98-02 F-body headers in a 69 with stock power steering. 2 tubes and the collectors had to be modified.

Nice engine bay!. but isnt the stock coil positions a better solution? short leads is and advantage? Looks like some of the sparkleads hit the hood to when you close it.

True, a shorter wire is better, but my wires are no longer than what a stock LT1 uses. A few of the wires on the coil end hit the hood when I shut it, but I have a set of wires with 90* coil boots going on.

Hi Tom, I have a set of your badass fuel rails, and am in the process of plumbing my fuel system. I am running a return line as well. My question is: From the pics you provided, it looks like you have both of the rail ends going to the regulator. How did you run the system? Thanks for the great parts and service!!!
